They were born in 1976 - their own baby FLAVOR MIX is now existing for more than ten years! At the end of the nineties, FAB 5 FINGER & GRANDMASTER BEN's sought-after mixtapes were carrying this name. In 2000, radio network NDR hired the duo for a new urban mix format, which today is airing twice a week on the NDR youth channel N-JOY. This radio show opened more doors: While on weekends FLAVOR MIX live sets are being played in German clubs, FLAVOR MIX can also be enjoyed 24/7 via internet stream (e.a. on iTunes). FLAVOR MIX TV is the newest visual advancement, offering top-notch video interviews with urban music stars. Within ten years, top acts like James Brown, Jay-Z and Destiny's Child have given their respect to the FLAVOR MIX of FAB 5 FINGER & GRANDMASTER BEN. Beside these prominent drops, FLAVOR MIX has two trademarks: First, the unique blend of funky songs from all music genres, no matter what decade; secondly, the extremely fast mix sequence, where almost no song is played longer than a minute. With these highlighting characteristics, FAB 5 FINGER & GRANDMASTER BEN, with over 1,000 hours of mixing as well as live sets in hundreds of locations worldwide, have established themselves as the top reference for black and urban music. |
